#41 - Dave Matthews Band

OMG! The instrumental which begins around the 4 minute mark and continues till the end of the song is mind blowing. Have been listening to it in a loop for the last 20 minutes or so.
I've always adored this band for their distinct musical style. I don't know how to describe it but all their songs are unique. This one, though, is something much much higher.
It's the 41st song the band wrote.

Josephine - The Wallflowers

This is just a good slow Rock song. Nothing particularly special maybe. But to me everything just fits perfectly in this one - the guitar, the organs, the riffs. The lead singer, by the way, is Jacob Dylan, son of Bob.

Laga Reh - Shehzad Roy

This is absolutely brilliant. Witty, catchy, satirical, refreshing. Listen to it in full volume. It will make you laugh. The one liners interlacing the song will make you nod in admiration.
I'm just wondering, how much of it holds true in India!

Thanks Rohan. And as this blog tells me, it's creating waves in Pakistan right now.

Chal Dil Mere - Ali Zafar

This is a wonderful concept to bring together the best musicians from Pakistan. I think the stage, sound and the lights are quite brilliantly done. Browse through the site and you shouldn't be disappointed. And I loved this song. Kishore Kumar meets funky bass grooves and some inspired backing vocals in this number from Pakistan's pop sensation Ali Zafar.

It's foot tapping. Shankar Ehsaan Loy keep it 'rocky' yet simple. The tune is catchy. And Farhan Akhtar can sing. At least his voice sounds fresh in this one. Just the kind of song we would have loved to sing for an event in college.

San Jose - Joe Purdy

An organ which plays in the background throughout and a steady rhythm guitar means that there are very few variations in this song in terms of tempo or distinct melodies. But it's this very feel which I like. And like the earlier song I posted, his voice does the trick. You can almost hear him plead and cry.
